Dr. Carrie Marcinkevage

AI and Appreciative Inquiry

Dr. Carrie Marcinkevage works at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Appreciative Inquiry, or what she describes as AI²: integrating emerging technologies through strengths-based, human-centered change. With more than 30 years of experience across Fortune 100 consulting and senior academic leadership, she helps organizations translate technological ambition into responsible, sustainable capability.

Her career began designing experiential leadership simulations for global enterprises including Boeing, Siemens, Dow, and SAP. That foundation in systems dynamics and decision-making under uncertainty continues to shape her approach to AI and emerging technologies. She understands that technological shifts are never merely technical. They reshape not only business processes, but also institutional identity and culture.

As a certified Appreciative Inquiry practitioner, Carrie facilitates strengths-based strategy, governance design, and responsible AI integration in complex environments. At Penn State, she has led enterprise CRM strategy, guided high-stakes technology selection processes, and implemented AI-enabled learning tools that measurably improve student engagement and performance. Her work focuses on moving institutions from AI experimentation to purposeful integration, translating innovation into daily practice.

Known nationally as “Dr. CRM,” Carrie brings together strategy, systems thinking, and human-centered change leadership. Through her AI² approach, she works with leaders to cultivate innovation that expands human agency, strengthens institutional trust, and aligns technological advancement with enduring purpose.
